David Barnett

David Barnett earned a BA from Colorado College and a masters in the Graduate Degree Program in Ecology from Colorado State University. Prior to joining the National Ecological Observatory Network as a spatial ecologist, he worked at the Natural Research Ecology Lab at Colorado State University where he designed and implemented systems to inventory and monitor plant species invasion and associated impacts on native species for the National Wildlife Refuge System, the National Park Service, the USDA Forest Service and private land owners from Hawaii to Alaska, and across the West. His research focuses on understanding patterns of plant species diversity and how relationships between pattern and process change at different scales, and through space and time.
