After a failed attempt at a musical career, I attended Red Rocks Community College and received an A.S. degree. I then enrolled at Colorado State University to finish my Bachelors degree in Biology. While at CSU I developed a strong interest and passion for entomology largely in part thanks to the enthusiastic and brilliant Dr. Boris Kondratieff. After graduating in 2010, I worked for the Colorado Division of Wildlife on a project examining the effects of a small dam on the aquatic insect communities downstream. This position solidified my desire to become a full-fledged entomologist. I was accepted into Will Clements lab and will be looking at aquatic and riparian insect communities, and the links between them, in the upper Arkansas River near Leadville, CO.
