I obtained my B.S and M.S degrees in Forestry from Haramaya and Hawassa Universities, Ethiopia. I have work experience in forestry research, forest seeds, forest monitoring, and agricultural extension from same country. I came to United States in 2006. Here, I acquired additional training in GIS at a specialist certificate, and A.S degree levels, and worked for a Californian based Information Technology, and Environmental Planning Consultancy firm. I am joining GDPE this fall semester through USDA National Needs Fellowship. Through the use of new remote sensing, and GIS modeling techniques, my research aims at generating valuable information in the science, and management of invasive Prosopis tree species in U.S, and Africa. My advisors are Melinda Laituri and Paul Evangelista.
