A native of Austin, TX, I grew up volunteering with different environmental groups restoring wildlife habitat and leading birdwatching field trips. I received my B.S. from CSU in the Department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology. Most recently, I worked on Fort Hood Military Installation studying occupancy and nest success of the endangered Black-capped Vireo. I returned in the fall 2012 to work with Dr. Paul Doherty on wildlife research at Pingree Park in conjunction with the natural resources field course taught at the mountain campus each summer. In addition, I will be collaborating with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands on a study of the effects of military activity on Dall sheep in Alaska.
