I received my B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Since then, I have worked at environmental labs in Nevada and Colorado as well as tracking bighorn sheep in the Bighorn Canyon as a volunteer for the USGS. I moved to Colorado 9 years ago, and for the past 4 years I have worked as the Research Coordinator at the School of Global Environmental Sustainability at CSU. I will be working on my master's, under the guidance of Gene Kelly and Chuck Rhoades on the use of biochar to restore soil productivity in areas with high severity fire or other disturbance, specifically at the Church's Park fire outside of Fraser, Colorado.
