Dhaval Vyas

I am a new PhD student working with Paul Ode on a project exploring parasitic wasps and the biological control of a pest caterpillar. My research will utilize laboratory and field experiments to examine competitive exclusion between two species of parasitic wasps. I am originally from Maryland, but I have lived in Georgia since 2006. I have a BA in Animal Behavior from Bucknell University and an MS in Biology from Georgia Southern University. Field research projects on primates, rhinoceros and elephants have taken me to the wilds of Puerto Rico, South Africa, Tanzania and Thailand. I am eager to transfer my experiences from studies on mammals to the world of insects. Outside of academics, I have worked as a zookeeper, environmental planner and animal behaviorist. Personal interests include dog training, backpacking, birding, wildlife photography and competitive eating.
