Katherine Carroll is a MS student in the GDPE program. She is interested in investigating changing agro-ecosystems using remote sensing techniques and field data in conjunction with geographic information system (GIS) and spatial analysis tools. Other areas of focus include political ecology and the role that relationships between social, political and economic factors have on human-environment relationships. Originally from Washington DC, Katherine received a B.A. in anthropology from Colorado State University in 2012. After completing her undergraduate degree, Katherine served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal where she worked with local farmers to promote the adoption of agricultural technologies to increase sustainability and improve food security. Now that she has completed her service, Katherine is excited to continue her education at Colorado State.
